Part 2 - Resolved for a Purpose
Many people wonder what their purpose is in this life. Some believe that their purpose is found in their careers, their families, or even in humanity. But if you are living for the temporal alone; that is, without any reverence for the eternal, you have completely missed your purpose. The Scriptures teach that our greatest purpose is to glorify God in all that we are and do. When this is established in our hearts first; when this is our greatest resolution, we begin to live our ultimate purpose. For this reason, the writer of Psalm 115:1 said, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!”
You see, when the glory of God is our ultimate purpose, everything we believe and do grows out of our great love for Him. So, be resolved to glorify God first in your life, and passion will flow through everything else He has purposed you for. You’ll find purpose in your career, a deeper love and affection for your family and friends. How so? Well its because everything you do, you will do it out of your great love for God. So, be resolved to live life with an eternal purpose.
