Part 8 - Resolved for Godly Relationships
Have you ever heard the statement, “I need to do me”? We have become a society of individuals. But this isn't the way it should be. We were created by God to be a people who care about each other as much as we care about ourselves. When asked what is the greatest commandment in all the law, Jesus said, “To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.” Jesus went on to say that the second greatest commandment is like the first, “To love your neighbor as yourself.” So how can we achieve this? Well, it all goes back to being resolved. Specifically, being resolved for Godly relationships. Yet none of this happens unless we truly love God first. You see, if we love God first then we can love each other with a greater love. In other words, our love for God will be manifested in our love and care for each other. Husbands will love their wives the way that God wants them to, and vise versa. Families will develop a stronger bond of love. Neighbors will love and care for each other with a godly love. When this is achieved, individualism dies and communities flourish because relationships flourish. So be resolved for godly relationships, God commands them because He loves us.
