Part 9 - Resolved for Repentance
Jesus said in Matthew 4:17, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” This idea of repentance is difficult for most people because we find it hard to believe that we are sinful. But, the Scriptures are clear and true, “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). When we pretend that we are without sin, or that sin doesn't exist, we stunt our spiritual growth and worse we make a liar of God and His word. Conversely, when we address sin through genuine repentance we grow spiritually and begin to develop a deeper relationship with God. Another important byproduct of repentance is that our personal relationships are strengthened because repentance breaks down the walls of hostility. So be resolved for repentance because the kingdom of God is at hand. Confess your sins to God and tell someone you’ve hurt that you’re sorry. You’ll be surprised how spiritually liberating it will be.
